Producer, self-shooting director, editor / Sightsavers
Developed with Sightsavers' campaign team to support advocacy efforts around ratification of the African Disability Protocol in Tanzania. The Protocol, adopted by the African Union in 2018, guarantees the rights of people with disabilities across the continent but only becomes binding once individual countries ratify it. I led the project from creative development through to delivery, self-shooting and editing within a co-production model, and developed the script directly from interviews with the disability rights advocates featured in the film.
The production process was shaped by the campaign itself. A rough cut was screened during a workshop in Zanzibar with twenty Tanzanian disability rights advocates, and their feedback directly informed the final script and edit.
