Producer, director, editor / Sightsavers
Short documentary developed with Sightsavers to put the voices of young people with disabilities at the centre of the conversation ahead of the UN Summit of the Future, 2024. Built around a collaboration with disability rights activist Abia Akram, the film answers the question posed by her mentor Judy Heumann: “How is your organisation... allowing disabled girls and women, boys and men, to feel like their voices matter?”
I led creative development and production across four countries, directing in person in Sierra Leone and remotely in Zimbabwe and Pakistan, with coordination across Sightsavers teams in the UK throughout.
The film screened at Scandinavia House, New York during the Summit. It won Best Documentary at Superfest Disability Film Festival 2025 and the People's Choice Silver Award at the Smiley Charity Film Awards 2025, and was nominated for Best Short Documentary at the Orion International Film Festival 2025.
